Natori Bliss Perfection is Perfect for Me

Pictured Here: Natori Bliss Perfection T-Shirt Bra in Blackberry

Bra fit is such a personal thing. I have debated about whether or not to even write this post for a long time. However, if you are struggling to find a comfortable bra, maybe this post will help you out. That said, I will tell you my breast type: sometimes called relaxed, a cross between pendulous and tear drop, or slightly bell shaped heavy breasts – if this describes you, you probably get the drift. Size-wise, I take a 34 G or 36 DDD depending on the bra. In some ways shape is more indicative of fit than size, but if you have a smaller cup size, you do have more options.

Ok, so for some reason during the first year of the pandemic when some people were learning to make bread from scratch, I was making it my mission to find the ultimate bra. Most importantly, it had to be comfortable, but it also had to hold me up. As women with the larger cup sizes know, this is no easy task. I searched high and low. I ordered so many bras, oh my girdle, you don’t even want to know how many bras I tried. In no particular order, I tried Bali, Knix, Aerie, Thirdlove, Cosabella, Cuup, Freya, Glamorise, True & Co, Soma, Prima Donna, Bare, Birdsong, Empreinte, Le Mystère, Fantasie, Wacoal and more.

Two-and-a-half years later, and the clear winner for me is still the Natori Bliss Perfection T-Shirt Bra. It is comfortable, I can wear it all day, it lifts me up, I don’t spill out, and it’s pretty. The downside is the price. At full price it’s approximately $70.00. If you don’t care about the color, you can often find one on sale for approximately $30.00. For the biggest range of sizes I shop at Bare Necessities online. You can sometimes find the Natori Bliss on-sale at Nordstrom Rack, but unfortunately, more often than not, they only carry the smaller cup sizes. I take a 36 DDD in this bra.

Coming in second, the runner up, and the more affordable option is the Aerie Smoothez Full Coverage Lightly Lined Bra. This bra is soft and comfortable as well, but the cups just don’t fit me quite as well. Full price it is approximately $50.00, but Aerie does run sales quite frequently. Unfortunately, the biggest cup size offered is a DDD. I wear a 36 DDD in the Smoothez Full Coverage bra.

Coming in third is the Birdsong Eva Full Cup T-Shirt Bra. This bra probably creates the nicest shape for me out of the three bras, but the underwire does dig in a little (and I have tried multiple sizes in case that was the issue), so I have to ding it for being less comfortable. Full price it is approximately $60.00. I take a 36 DDD in the Birdsong Eva Full Cup T-Shirt bra.

I did do some crowd sourcing during my search, so I have to give an honorable mention to Wacoal bras for large breasted women, especially those who like minimizer bras. I have tried many different styles of Wacoal and personally I have found them all to be uncomfortable and/or unflattering. However, Wacoal certainly won out as a favorite for many women with larger cup sizes; they just aren’t for me.

Bra shopping is always a journey. I hope this post helps someone out there. Godspeed.
